I could write for hours about the life change, the joy, the sorrow, the emotion, the frustration, the joy, the happiness and/or the hope and love I witnessed on this trip. I just want to share this video, which I've prayed over for days and worked for countless hours on. This video is a little piece of what I brought back with me from this trip.
I'm always amazed when I get to see how BIG God is. Boy is He ever BIG!
My absolute, hands down, favorite part of this trip is being able to SEE the vision played out. Last year on our first visit, we interviewed orphans who would be living at the homes we are helping to support for the next 5-7 years. This year, by way of complete accident (or was it?) we were able to see children living in their homes with ELECTRICITY provided by the Tri-Cities community AAAAAND, we were able to see their beds where they sleep every night and we also.....my ultimate favorite, got to see those precious angels being served dinner at their very own table. Priceless. Absolutely, unequivocally priceless.
I'm in awe of the people in our area who want to be a part of this amazing mission....The mission of our local organization HOPE 2.2.1. is to create opportunities here, so we can create opportunities there. HOPE 2.2.1. stands for the Hope we witnessed the first time we went there in 08, 2 continents, 2 histories, 1 future. The whole purpose of HOPE 2.2.1. is to be a local contact for world mission. Currently, we are called to Rwanda and working there. There are so many needs in our world, even in our local communities.
If there is one lesson I've learned that I could share from this experience it's this..... Everything in life is bigger than me. I'll never be able to do it all. I've never met anyone in my life who thought their life was purposed to fix every issue in the world and I know it's not my place to try either. It's not possible. I can't do it all, but I can do something. I only have 1 chance to try.
You have 1 life. Do Something.
