Have I mentioned it was about 204 degrees during these sessions? For real, it was totally like 96 and huuuuuuumID! The sticky kind of humid that takes your breath away as soon as you
turn that nice cool air conditioned car off and open the door. Yeah, that kind. The kind of hot that as soon as the sun hits your skin, you're soaked with sweat. Yeah, that kind.
Crazy weather to shoot in, just crazy I say. But, beautiful nonetheless.
This session was located just outside of Cleveland in a little town called Athens. Way, way, way out in the sticks. Driving up to the house, I was mesmerized by the blank land. There's something about acres and acres of farm land that takes me back to my childhood and somehow helps me to think more clearly and let my shoulders down. They kept asking me if I was okay because I couldn't stop "sigh-ing". It was so peaceful and beautiful there. No door to door houses, No shopping centers, No condos. No gas stations. Nothing. Just fields and fields and fields. ahhhhhhhhhh. Totally refreshing.
As soon as I arrived, that funny little punkin' came out the back door smiling so big it might have hurt and here came their huge dog right behind him and CRASH! Pushed that poor lil' fella over on the concrete (as in, his body folded in half and he smacked his little forehead hard enough for me to hear it, standing 8 feet away) .......before the first picture was taken! No fear though. He's a tough little guy. We pulled out some tractors and let him sit up in his daddy's big truck, took a walk in the road and played allllllll over the yard. I am smitten with these images. Can't wait to do it again!!!!
