As a photographer, sometimes (hmm...most times) it's very hard to please myself with my own work.

It's moments like this, when the first grand baby comes along.....
he's brand new
a fresh little person
unharmed
innocent
totally dependent
TOTALLY dependent on love.

Being allowed to see those things through my camera and freeze those fleeting little moments are completely, completely fulfilling for me. It's nothing special that "I" did creatively, it has everything to do with being at the right place, at the right time, with the right people. This was one of those days.

Thrilled.

Totally in love, totally prepared, totally a beautiful time in this couple's journey and I feel so honored to get to share this time with them visually. What a gift to give to their sweet baby girl (who's been born by the way....she's ummm.. perfect. Will show you soon.). I love that she will get to see what her beautiful mommy looked like while she was in her belly and just as special in my eyes? She will get to see how much her daddy COMPLETELY ADORES her mommy. I could talk for days and days and days about the intensity of sweetness this couple oozes, but I truly don't want to gross you out. ;) They're awesome. Baby pics coming soon!

Haven't photographed a kid this funny in a long time! He's sooooo smart and inquisitive and just plain fun to be around. I loved getting to have a glimpse into what daily family life is like for them. I took pictures of him, he took pictures of me, we played outside (in the freezing cold), he rode his bicycle and didn't want to come back...it was mucho fun. Love this age. Love, love, love this age! So many opinions, so many questions. Hard to not wish I could turn back time with my kids after this session.

And I'm not sure if I'm talking about the little girl or her mommy. Just love them both to bits.

We have a history. How cool to photograph someone's wedding, then pregnancy, then watch their little girl grow up, journaling the entire path....I'm blessed beyond imagination to have the privilege of this huge responsibility!!!

Good Lord these girls are toooo grown up!!! I've known them since they were 5 and it's so neat to watch them turn into little ladies! Kills me though, it reminds me how fast childhood flies past!

Meanwhile, we have these two little blondes that are gonna grow up to be the "ones" all the boys have to answer to! (provided all their time isn't taken up fending off the ladies). How many beautiful children is one family allowed to have?!
